After a busy-with-a-million-other-projects sewing hiatus, I finally dusted off my sewing machine yesterday and finished one of my unfinished projects. (I have too many of those!) It was a perfect day, too. I sat around and sewed all day in my pajamas while outside it was all thunderstorm-y and spooky.
My latest project was another brown-skinned doll for a lovely blog-friend who is also adopting from Ethiopia. I love the idea that this little doll will soon be sitting in a nursery waiting for a wee babe from way across the ocean. I've been dilly-dallying on this project for a long while now and I'm so grateful that this friend has been oh so patient.
Here she is:

So fun and pretty!
This was my first attempt at doing any sort of applique.
I even used heat n' bond.
And some sort of new stitch. Blanket stitch? I forget.
Little booties.
Two brown button eyes and a little embroidered mouth.
Can't forget a cute hair accessory!
P.S. Don't you just love her big hair??? Hee hee.
