My table really did look like this. For about 15 minutes. Then I had to throw a table leaf in each end and add a bunch of mismatched chairs.
It's fun to set your table all fancy with real, live, cloth napkins and pinecones n' stuff. But it doesn't really lend itself well when you have six place settings and 22 people over for dinner. Tee hee!
I guess you're kind of getting a little tour of my dining room. It's still a work in progress.
I made my favourite dessert of all time again. Hazelnut Fudge Torte - just as scrumptious as I remember.
Placemats - Pier One
White dishes - Linens N' Things
Green dishes - Linens N' Things
Napkins - Pier One
White candle holders - Local Pharmacy
Glass candle holders - Michaels
Pinecones - Dollarama
White pitcher - Homesense
Greenery - The Great Outdoors
P.S. I'm cutting this short since the hubby and I are still recovering from cooking/baking/cleaning for 36 hours straight.
P.S.S. Hope you're having a lovely Christmas!
P.S.S.S. These are the last rotten photos you'll see from my old point-and-shoot. I got my new, fancy schmancy camera this morning!!!! I have no idea how to work it yet but I'm off to decipher the manual as soon as I hit publish. Yippeeeeee!

Have tons of fun with your camera! (I received a fancy tripod for mine, as well as a wide angle & macro lens, & a remote control to prevent those awkward "just barely made it into the picture" moments). The table looks lovely - I will be having 21 over tomorrow (Boxing Day)...and have 11 people sleeping here before and after (including Geoff and I)...so the goal of magasine-style decor and arrangement of space and goods sorta does go out the window...ah well. 'Tis the season!
ReplyDeleteSimple and beautiful! And the torte looks divine.
ReplyDeleteLove your tablescape. It looks so peaceful. The torte looks devine. Good luck with your new camera!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have you being a part of Seasonal Sundays. As these days turn from the Christmas Season to the Season of Winter, I hope you'll continue to share with us.

ReplyDeleteI love the way you fixed your table. Just lovely. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty table!! Very wintery and calm! This is my first visit to your blog and I am enjoying it so much.
ReplyDeleteBecause of the boxing day blog,I looked to see where you are from and I didn't see, but I am assuming you are from Canada (or the UK). Did you do Christmas crackers as well? My husband is from the UK and we do Christmas crackers, but don't do anything for boxing day (though he would LOVE your breakfast bacon!!)
I'm thrilled that you have a new camera. You're going to have such a great adventure with it! Great tablescape! Thank you for sharing your charming design. Happy New Year! Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteI love the way the table looks. Very pretty! I think the photos are actually very nice even if they were taken using a point and shoot.
