I am loving this little corner of the living room lately. I just recently picked up a pretty orchid (while on a trip to Lowes with Alex)(for some insulation)(boring) to brighten up the spot. It's a purplish pink colour and really stands out against all the white and yellow in the room. Apparently orchids are fussy so I'm waiting a little bit before I repot it in a cute, ceramic container.
Here's what I've done so far to make that neglected corner in the living room cuter:
1) Stole white curtains from upstairs and hung them behind couch
2) Stole white print from upstairs and hung on tiny wall
3) Bought and painted tiny desk set
4) Sewed some new cushion covers
5) Bought a pretty, pink orchid
5) Bought a pretty, pink orchid
I hope I don't kill it.
I'm looking for some cushions with a wee bit of pink in them. Am I crazy???

On an unrelated note, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! I dusted off my Kitchen-Aid mixer tonight and baked some homemade cupcakes. It's been awhile. I made classic chocolate, with buttercream frosting. If you lived closer I would give you one. You're that nice. Hope you're getting all romantic and lovey tonight. Ooooooh weeeeee. ;)
Super cute post. What a great little space solution with the desk!

ReplyDeleteI am just in love with that little desk! I need to find something small like that for my daughter, because we are short on space and she LOVES making artwork. Any suggestions on key words to search for on Craigslist for desks/chairs that size?

Celeste,
ReplyDeleteI would try searching with the words:
-vintage
-antique
-old
plus:
-vanity
-desk
-table
I find alot of antique furniture is smaller in scale so maybe you'll be able to find something tiny. :)
Good luck!!
Cupcakes are super cute and look delicious... hope Alex's coworkers appreciated them :)
