I took the plunge and registered for a photography course at our local college. It's a 10 week long course called Introduction to Photography.
The kicker is that I signed up and went to the first class all.by.myself.
I could only eat one bite of supper before I left the first night because I was so nervous. Then I felt like a total loser walking in and sitting down at a desk all by myself.
But then..... but then....... not one but two girls talked to me on the break. After that, I felt so much better.
They should give out medals for accomplishments like these.
The above photo is my very first picture that was not taken on auto or creative auto mode. (Roary was self-conscious about his pink nose but let me take his portrait anyway.)
I'm sorry I haven't been around much over the last few weeks but there has just been way too much going on with work and friends/family moving and birthdays and whathaveyou.
I will make up for my absence by posting about the DIY SHUTTERS WE'RE GOING TO MAKE ON SATURDAY!!! YIPPEEEEEEEE!

You see, it's my birthday that day and I totally suckered Alex into helping me make them as my "present". I hope I'm not the only one out there who would prefer to cut and paint wood in the backyard than go out for a fancy dinner. :)
We've missed you!! Good for you for signing up for your course! I live in a small community, so classes are hard to come by. You can pass your tips onto me :) I have been playing around with some editing in Picnik, you will have to check it out. Happy shutter planning for the week end ! Take care :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect birthday to me!! Happy Birthday Girl!! And congrats on taking the photography plunge!! I think you already take fantastic pics, can't wait to see what you learn!!

Awww that is such a sweet photo!!! I can't wait to see what other photos you come up with!
ReplyDeleteRoary looks like he could teach us a thing or two. what a lovely, lovely old boy:o) Congrats on taking a course. I felt exactly the same way when I went back to Teacher's College at the age of 39. The first girl who talked to me became my quick friend for the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Carrie
The class sounds like it will be fun. Once you get off of auto you won't go back. I'm still learning but it's fun. Hope you share with us some of what you learn!
ReplyDeleteI totally hear you! Definitely an accomplishment, and I'm sure it'll be loads of fun.
