Oh, hello there. :)

First, I'd like to announce the winner of my Cooper-Likes-You-Giveaway for a paper decoration from Maisy and Alice on Etsy. I just knew that some of you would love their decorations as much as I do. Don't forget that you still have a few days to receive a 15% discount if you didn't win the giveaway and would like to order something from their shop. Just enter the code cozycottage15 at checkout.

Without further ado, the winner was entry #38, Louise from NE, Oklahoma.

Congratulations, Louise! I'll email you soon with the details. :)

To switch topics completely, things around here are getting into somewhat of a routine. Okay, that was a big fat lie. No routine over here. Just snuggles and feedings and more snuggles and more and more and more and more and more and more feedings. I had NO IDEA what breastfeeding was going to be like. At first I felt utterly useless because I couldn't get a single thing done around the house in an entire day. But then I read alot of info on the internet (most likely at 4:00 in the morning, heh heh) and I have come to realize that that's completely normal for newborns and newborn mamas. I just have to embrace my new job (best job in the world, right?) and enjoy our little snugglefests while I can. I've got myself all set up with a cozy spot in the living room, a good book, tonnes of chick flicks, awesome blogs to read on my blogroll (I'm still reading, I swear!), my two furry friends nearby, and of course a pile of snacks and drinks. Who ever knew a person could be so hungry and thirsty?

Sorry if that last bit was too-much-information. You have my permission to forget that you ever read a paragraph on my blog that had the word breast in it.

{Squirming in my chair all awkward-like.}

I thought I'd share a few more pictures because apparently I am an over-sharer now when it comes to my personal life. Hope y'all don't mind.

This was us on our first big walk a few weeks ago. Cooper loved it so much that he slept through the entire thing. How about we pretend that I'm not wearing XL forest green jogging pants from Wal-Mart with a hot pink hoodie and that I gained 40-some pounds during this pregnancy.

Here is a more recent photo of Mini-Coop watching basketball and snuggling with his dad. We love those monkey pajamas. Soooooo cute!

In house-related news we finally, after over six years in this house, chose and purchased a patio table set for outside. I feel like doing the Carlton dance just thinking about it. It was SUCH a good purchase. The price was pretty darn cheap as far as patio sets go, it fits perfectly on our top deck, and it goes nicely with the conversation set that we bought recently for our lower deck. I feel like such a grown-up now with real outdoor furniture. (Hmmmm, the new baby kinda makes me a grown-up too, I suppose.) I'll make sure to share details about and pictures of the new set as soon as I can.

Hope you all are doing great and I am so sorry if I haven't responded to your questions, comments, or emails yet. Thank you so much for sending them my way and I'll try to do better at responding right away.

P.S. The temperature is finally in the twenties today up here in Northern Ontario and it really truly feels like heaven. Now if only I could fit into my shorts............ ;)

  1. enjoy those snuggle moments ~ they end to quickly. And who says forest green and hot pink don't go together? You look great for having just had a baby.

  2. Aw man, I didn't win the giveaway?! Bummer!!!

OMG, you look so cute and happy in that picture on the walk!!! Yes, breastfeeding is exhausting! And it made my back hurt, my wrists sore from holding her, it is hard...but worth it if you can stick it out. After 2 months (when you supposedly don't have to worry about "nipple confusion" anymore, we started giving her a bottle at the last feeding right before bed (and I nursed for every other feeding). My husband actually gave her the bottle and put her down to bed, it was good bonding time for them and the break for me was huge!!! You kinda have to look at caring for this baby as your gig/complete reason for existence/whole world for the next few months, don't get down on yourself about other things not getting done. Love that shot of him on Dad's chest!

    1. That's so funny because we have been doing the exact same thing! I'll feed the little guy right before about 10:00 or 11:00 before bed and Alex will do his feeding with a bottle the next time he wakes up so I at least get 2-3 hours of straight sleep. Once I get that I find I'm able to function a bit better at 3:00 and 5:00 and 7:00 when Coop is hungry. You're right it helps soooo much.

How long did you end up breastfeeding for??? I'm trying to stick it out 3 months and then see what happens after that but apparently it gets easier later on? I think I'll believe it when I see it!!! :)

  3. STOP LYING SARAH! Those are not XLs. :) Well, I got you beat by 20 pounds. My 5' 6" 140 lb frame went to 200 lbs!!!!! Don't worry though. That weight will come off soon, but probably not until you are done with breastfeeding.

    1. I'm not lying, I pinky swear those are extra-larges!!! I did like those pants so much that I made Alex go back and get me a second pair in a different colour (he picked the green, haha). Good old Wally-World. ;)

    1. Thanks Cassie!!

I know the weight will come off eventually but I'm at such an awkward stage where my old clothes are too small and the maternity clothes are too big. I've been wearing the same outfit for the last two weeks (I've washed it in between though, haha) because it's the only one that fits.

      :)

  5. The pounds will come off especially since your breast feeding, I think you look adorable with you surrounded there on your walk with your lovies! Don't worry about getting things done it will all be there when you have more time which believe it or not will come sooner than you think!

  7. You look so cute and happy! Breastfeeding is the best! I hope you will stick with it! I breastfed all four of my children for at least six months. It is so convenient and SO good for baby and mommy. The weight just drops off while breastfeeding (although you look great and not like you just had a baby!). In the beginning, I think a lot of moms get discouraged, but the "high demand" eases off, and you will fall into a very manageable routine. And remember...housework will always be there, but not those precious, snuggly babies!

  8. Sarah! Cooper is so cute! I bet you are doing an awesome job being his Momma! I can TOTALLY relate to being a first time Mom and adjusting and accepting that you cannot do it all! But the snuggles with our little men are so so worth it! As for being an over sharer...well, I love that you are posting about babe cos well, it's relevant to me! (how selfish I know!) If you would like to talk personally re: mommy stuff, email me anytime! nursemail2004@yahoo(dot)com
You look so good by the way! I gained 60! OMG! Have only lost about 30! EEP!
    Take care Mamma!
