I wish you could see my living room / dining room / sunroom situation right now. Every corner, every surface, every square inch is filled up with baby gear. I'm working on trying to find "places" for everything but it's a slooooow process.
Even though the pops of neon kind of drive my white-neutral-loving brain a little crazy, I don't really mind. After all, what's more important is this little chunk of love.
Can you believe that he is two weeks old already?!? I'm trying to memorize every little adorable detail since he's changing so fast already. See, his eyes are open!

So remember yesterday (or was it the day before?) I was talking about choosing a runner for our staircase? Well, I came across my inspiration picture from Pottery Barn on Pinterest this morning.
That's why I chose the following wool rug samples. They were the closest I could find to the above picture.
Still not sure if this is what we're going to go with. Did I mention the insane cost? The rug plus install will be almost $2000. Ca-razy town. Yes, I know. But that's just an estimate and it's including the stair landing, and the tiny hallway upstairs. Still, I think we might need to shop around a bit.

Don't forget that today is the last day to enter my thanks-for-loving-on-Cooper-giveaway. Just leave a comment to win a super-cute paper decoration from Maisy and Alice on Etsy. Here is the link to the giveaway post.
Good luck and I like your hair today. Mine is wrapped up in a towel turban-style and has been for the last two hours. Bet you five bucks my hair has dried all wonky and ridiculous-like. Awesome. ;)
Here is my little tid bit of advice on runners, don't spend too much on it , don't get a high end carpet , I say this considering your stage of life, kid(s) and a dog. Our last runner cost $400 , it was bound and a synthetic sisal from end of the roll. Carpet installers HATE to do runner so they tack on tons and tons of rediculous charges just so they don't have to do them often. Shop around a lot because $2000 for a runner is a bit much considering you will probably want to replace it after 5-6 years.
ReplyDeleteThose baby pics are scrumptous.
Thanks so much for the rug advice!!! I thought the price was standard which should teach me a lesson to shop around more.
DeleteI asked the carpet guy about sisal and he had no idea what I was talking about. I'll have to try end-of-the-roll and see what I can find.
:)
Awww, he is soooo adorable!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! :)
DeleteSomehow I missed that you already had your sweet little babe. I guess I'm farthe rbehind in my blog reading than I thought!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! He is such a cutie :)
Love the carpet you choice. Its a great neutral colour that will put up with the wear and tear.
I am SO far behind in my blog reading, too.
DeleteI have no idea if I'll ever catch up.... not with this little guy anyway. :)
Thanks for your comments about the carpet choice. I think it will look nice but I just can't decide.... AHHH!

ReplyDeleteYou are blessed (and so is he)!
Our stair runner was just over $1000. I was SHOCKED and that was with shopping around. We put it off for about 6 months and then we bit the bullet over Christmas. That was our very large Christmas present to each other. We have had it for almost 6 months and it is in perfect shape with kids, dog, etc. We had one small chocolate issue that cleaned right up. The carpet dude said it was so much $$$ because they have to use a really long length of carpet - it may be narrow but you pay for the whole width because they cut it. Or something like that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, sweet pics!!
