Oh if only I had found this print when I was working on Cooper's nursery. Hmmm, maybe in his big boy room? P.S. When does that transition happen anyways? Help, moms, help.

Coconut coffee, coconut cookies, coconut icing, I want it all. Especially the deliciousness that I spied on Pinterest the other day.
Hi four-ingredient chocolate coconut pie. Let's be friends.

For a long while I had been putting all the extra $$$ from photo sessions into my 'Camera Fund' so that I could upgrade my camera body from the Canon Rebel T1i to the Canon 6D. Except my crazy boyfriend (okay, husband) went and surprised me with the wickedly awesome, fancy schmancy 6D for my birthday. What a guy and what an, ummmm, expensive present. I am ridiculously spoiled. He even let me rename my camera fund to 'Cushion Fund'. ;)

4. Cute, Quirky Movies
Is it just me or is it really hard to find movies these days that aren't scary, crude, depressing, or ultra-violent? Geez. Safety Not Guaranteed was just my cup of tea. So cute! I might have to watch it again tonight now that I think of it. While I'm folding ten baskets of clean laundry. How did that happen again? Sigh.
5. Blue and White Fabric
I was all into the greens for awhile. Now I'm all into the blues. Can I have all of these please? Please!?!

What are you loving lately?
I am obsessed with blue and white! I have blue and white china, and also have a huge bolt of blue and white striped fabric waiting for when I have the money to reupholster my sofa.
ReplyDeleteOoooh that couch sounds dreamy. Whereabouts did you get the fabric? Of course I want to go spy.... ;)
Deletewow! that first whale print is gorgeous. i will definitely check out the united thread etsy shop -- thanks for recommending!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI can't chime in on the decorating stuff because I'm useless at decorating. But I'll chime in on the transitioning to a big boy room! We had our kids close together so we were forced to either transition from crib to bed a bit younger than most, or buy a new crib. We chose transition to bed! So we put both J and O into a bed around 19-20 months old (with bedrails on the sides and a body pillow under the blankets at the bottom to sort of block them in). And the transition was so easy both times. So maybe we just lucked out to have kids who didn't much care where they slept. Or maybe we hit upon an easy age to transition. I guess we'll be able to test it out again with A in a few months. We plan to put her in a big-girl bed probably in early December! I'll report back with how it goes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, girl! My little Coops is 15 months right now and does not seem ready at all. Although he changes so much so quickly that who knows what will happen in a few short months from now.
DeleteGood luck with your next transition. I will for sure want to know how it goes and any tips / tricks that helped!
:)
LOL, I just realized that it was you. You know, the Carly that I know in person. Hahaha! For sure let me know how it goes with A!!!!

ReplyDeleteYAY kindred spirits! Makes me think of the Anne of Green Gables books. Hee hee.

I really like all the items you mentioned. My home in Florida is decorated in a subdued coastal style and I have lots of whites, tans, grays and robins egg blue sprinkled in most of the rooms...So I love the shades of the pillows and fabrics and especially the whale print. Nice camera too. What a lovely present!
ReplyDeleteYour house sounds awesome! Where can I spy? Hahahaha......
DeleteI've been loving driftwood (we've been collecting it on the beach lately), birch trees (we just bought a birch tree painting for above our fireplace) and I'm continually obsessed with the colors aqua, coral and lemongrass. www.lifeaswegoit.com
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving the link to your blog because I got to spy on your birch tree painting (so nice!) and see a few pics of your little guy. Oh my gosh he is adorable.
DeleteLittle boys, huh? They're the best.
I've been checking out your blog for a couple of months now and I love it! I feel like we have a lot in common :) Thanks for checking out my blog. Isn't the birch tree painting cool? Another new obsession of mine I guess.... And I agree that little boys ARE the best!
Delete1. Love the whale print. It is awesome.
ReplyDelete2. Transition to big boy room usually starts when crib changes to toddler bed.
3.Coconut is so yummy. Have you ever had coconut bread? Yum.
4. Congrats on the new camera. Your hubby rules!
5.I haven't heard of this movie. I'll have to google it.
6. Blue and white would look great in your home.
7. I always love it when you update your blog. :)
Love everything about this post. I so need a whale print now :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI just got this same camera a week ago and there is dust trapped inside the lcd screen...I'm exchanging it fir a new one. Just thought you might like a head's up--mine came out of the box that way and I worry that if there is a broken seal, the dirst will get into the sensor even with the lenses/cap on...
When my son turned two we changed his crib to a toddler bed. When he was three, we moved to a new house, so we changed the decor, but it was still kid-ish and he got a twin size bed. When he was nine, we changed the decor as a surprise for him and it was a sad day to see all the little boy stuff gone and a more mature decor. He loves the new decor, but I didn't really expect it to feel so sad for Mommy :( I'm not a fan of this growing up stuff. I am now constantly reminded by him that he's a preteen.
ReplyDeleteMy son turned 3 a month ago and we finished his bog boy room this week. We converted his crib into a toddler bed at 18 months, and he was happy there, but baby #2 is on her way and we needed to move him out of the nursery. We talked it up for a couple months and he was really excited to move in by the time we finished the room.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! I love the whale print...so cute! The blue and white fabric is beautiful, so clean and fresh! Um what is happening to Cooper? He doesn't look like a baby anymore! Holy smokes! Adorable as always but soooo big. I think the big boy transition happens when a) you want to redecorate (by finding adorable whale prints) :) b) you have someone else to fill the nursery!? c) Cooper outgrows his crib and doesn't sleep well in it anymore due to lack of space.
ReplyDeleteDid you see that Sarah Richardson series when they rebuilt her "cottage"? Stunning! I would love an invitation to have a cocktail or two in that place lol! Kelly
