Oh my gosh we did NOT have the patience to do all of that work. We slopped paint right over all of the old hinges. Now there's about 50 layers of paint on them so hopefully they still work. :)

Hey Sarah!!!! I am very spoiled in the husband department. He's helped me all three nights this week sanding and painting those stinkin' cabinets.

As for summer, it has rained here for TWO WEEKS STRAIGHT. I'm trying to still enjoy my days before going back to work but geez a little sunshine would be nice. :)

Hey there! Our kitchen is on the north side of the house with only one small window. So, we're going with a bright white. It won't be a huge difference in pictures but in person it looks so much cleaner and crisper already.

Fun, fun! Isn't it interesting how doing one big job launches us into another. My favorite part [not] of cabinet painting is taking off the hinges to soak the hinges and screws in paint remover, and then cleaning them with wire brushes to remove layers and layers of someone else's old paint. No way to make that job glamerous, for sure. lol

lol... I did that myself last year. I just jumped in and did it. They turned out good too. It took me about 5 days start to finish and they have held up a year now! I actually think doing it when you just got done cleaning the house for guests was a great idea! Less chaos to start with. Good luck. Can't wait to see it! Check out my post about it if you get the chance! It makes a HUGE difference!
