Great little post about my home area!! I am from 'Muskoka' the region in which you visited...such great little shops and eateries...you should have continued on past Port Carling to Bala as well...there is a 'Saturday Afternoons' there that has tonnes of cute little things...and a F.Y.I. you have that it is 'South' of Toronto, it is actually north and the region is 'Muskoka' a collection of towns and villages and multiple lakes.

I've been to Bala for an antiques show last year and I love that store called Saturday Afternoons. Haven't been there this year but there's a few days left of summer, yet. :)

I think they were called big ass pies for both reasons. They were crazy big. I should have taken a picture but the girl at the cash already thought I was wierd for taking a picture of the menu board.
