Love the shutters!! Having my husband make them for the inside of my windows (I have issues with a lot of curtains...lol) Shutters will be the *PERFECT* answer. We live wayyyyyy out in the boonies and must have something up as there were loads of break-ins out my way last summer/fall and I don&#39;t want would be intruders lookin&#39; in when I can&#39;t look out and see them. The louvered and board and batten shutters add so much to each house. My husband made some board and batton shutters for our windows this summer out of inexpensive pine boards. They were really easy to make, and I love how they look! We hung them with strap hinges that we picked up at the local hardware store and ordered some shutter dogs online to finish the look. It really changed the look of our house. The general idea of ones like those pictured throughout (including the second-last photo) are quite pretty, and look fairly straightforward to make. I always wanted shutters, although my Craftsman-style 1x1/2 storey bungalow with glassed in front porch and rows of little windows doesn&#39;t really lend itself to putting shutters anywhere.
