Have you thought of removing the wall in between the two closets? That would give you more space and perhaps help with the dooor situation (might become a standard size). Alternatively, use the standar size doors (like the downstairs) and mount them on barn door hardware (i.e., sliding doors). Just some thoughts.

The new ones are really nice. Just wondering if you could you ask a local carpenter about cutting some width off to compensate for the narrower opening. Maybe over the two doors it would be doable, maybe not if they are hollow core. Just a thought. We also do not have closet doors on our bedroom closets. The builder put in super ugly and cheap laminate and metal sliders that over the past 14 years have gotten pretty roughed up so we just tossed them. Now I need to build in door openings to fit the doors and your new bifold style would be really nice.

Can you buy some plain bi-fold doors and just add the trim? The trim should easy enough, but do they have the plain bifolds in your size?

And then mount them like little french doors - easier access into the ends/corners of the closet!

I love your downstairs doors.... but your bedroom ones.... yuck... could you possibly cover them with thin wood ...I know there is a name for that... and then add the srtips like your other ones????
As for you sandwiches cut into stripes.... we call them soldiers... my kids loved them...when they were toasted then they became toast soldiers... also great for dipping into soup.
